The PATRIK 5Wave is our most playful, super-efficient, 5-batten classic wavesail. Developed in Margaret River, Australia, by Patrik Diethelm and 3D mastermind Fabio Canella, this sail is the first choice for crossover freestyle/wave and maximum control in big waves and strong winds. Key to the 5Wave's outstanding control and efficiency is the high aspect ratio design. The refined outline taken from our 4Wave power wave sail allows for maximum control at high speeds and an easier release in top turns and big landings. By giving slightly more luffcurve than other modern wavesails, we managed to increase the tension on the sail body for maximum control and a locked sail pressure point while reducing the swinging of the mast in choppy conditions at the same tim

Lot of Job since the end of 2008
Till 2012 with the great Anders Bringdal then I have to press all I learned in the last years to try to support the Big Bad in this interesting adventure !
In 2015/2016 we did a little revolution with a new outline and the foil a bit more on the back
Light feeling and good speed (just for the 5.4 we did 18 proto… what a effort for Challenger Sails! )
Then the Chief, Mr. Bad, propose me to do a Signature series… Great!
So from 2017 we developed the Principe Speed Line
During the 2019 I found out that a leech less negative can deliver more speed and still keep the control … We took a while for testing … now we are going to set up all the sizes… with the proper mast!!
Soon it will be ready all the line 2022!!
Stay Tuned, Forever Speed!
This board is the remedy for everyone frustrated by wide-body boards that simply don't work for everyone. The F-Ride might be the longest freeride board on the market. Wide-body boards surely have their benefits but from our understanding the intermediate freerider does not benefit too much from the extra width so why should we make the same mistake? So here comes our F-Ride. The extra length on the flat area under the straps makes the board more stable and more foregiving. Additionally the passive planing (no pumping) improves significantly. The narrower width makes it easier to step into the straps and have both legs balanced in a comfortable sailing position.
The GT3-FRC is the little sister of our competition slalom sail RaceSF. Based on the concept and panels of this contest winning fin and foil hybrid race sail the GT3-FRC performs equally well on fin AND foil. Many updates and modifications make this sail light and easy in your hands. At the same the GT3 doesn't lose its racing DNA. Fabio Canella and Patrik Diethelm gave it a more narrow mastsleeve while mainly keeping the original panels of the RaceSF. The softer mastsleeve material makes the sail more alive and a little more forgiving. Clearly designed to work absolutely best on RDM masts there will be a SDM camber set available for purchase to modify the GT3 to SDM use. With the RDM standard configuration the sail feels lighter, faster and has a much better handling in the jibes.
Directly based on our competition foil sails the GT3-Foil combines the lightness and smooth handling of a RDM sail with the locked feeling and speed of our pure racing sails. You will be amazed how light this 3-cam sail feels during the jibes or while starting. Its true racing DNA allows for a controlled and stable flight on the foil and the perfect aerodynamics of this high aspect design help to get planing and flying early. The softer and smaller mast sleeves makes the sail more forgiving and easier to waterstart as the sleeve takes less water when the sail gets dropped into the water. Camber rotation is soft and direct.
SHAPE AND FEEL
The FoilRide is the easiest to ride out of our five (!) pure foil boards, the FoilCompV2, the FoilRace, the FoilRide, the FoilMove and the FoilStyle.
It's a little narrower in the tail than the FoilRace and the FoilComp. The FoilRide doesn't have cutouts which makes the accelleration more even, easier to control and more stable. Usually freeriders don't use a lot of rake on the foil mast so the additional sinking of the tail as a scondary result of the cutouts is not needed to give the foil a positive angle of attack. It's way more important to give the rider the confidence and safety to gain trust in foiling quickly and improve from session to session.
The FoilRace is the easier little sister of our pure foil competition machine FoilCompV2. It is able to match the FoilComp's race performance by 98% but is a little more rider friendly than its competition equivalent.
As said before the outline and concept is very close and similar to the FoilCompV2 but less extreme in the details. The cutouts are designed to favour passive accelleration a little better than on the FoilCompV2. They still allow for active pumping and sinking of the tail with raked foils. If you are looking for one foil board to cover any flatwater conditions from freeride to racing this board is for you.
